Metallic structure

The passive protection in metallic structures is calculated by means of the massiveness of the profile and the table of the thicknesses obtained according to the test of each product of the manufacturers.

There are 5 different solutions for the protection of metal structures:

- Intumescent painting

- Rigid plate

- Rock wool plate

- Mortar projection

- Rock wool projection

Concrete structure

Passive protection in the case of concrete structures, consists of increasing the distance from the reinforced to the surface. This thickness will give us the resulting resistance to fire.

There are 3 solutions:

- Mortar projection

- Rock wool projection

- Ablative painting

Wood structure

Passive protection in the case of wooden structures is calculated using the carbonization formula of the section and knowing the permanent load that the structure must support. This can determine the Resistance of the beam.

To increase its resistance to fire, you can opt for different solutions:

- Mortar projection

- Rock wool projection

- Intumescent paint

- Intumescent varnish

The method to apply will depend on:

- Fire resistance to reach

- Type of wood

- Beam section

- Load to which it is subjected
